Ledger, a global leader in digital asset security, has announced a partnership with three Australian rugby stars — Angus Crichton, Drew Mitchell and Matt Giteau — as its first local brand ambassadors to raise awareness around crypto security.

Three Australian international rugby stars have partnered with Ledger™, the world leader in digital asset security for consumers and enterprises, to promote crypto security to the growing number of Australians investing in it.

Ledger, which sponsors NBA team the San Antonio Spurs and has previously collaborated with Snoop Dogg and luxury fashion house Balenciaga, has partnered with Angus Crichton, Drew Mitchell and Matt Giteau to be its first Australian brand ambassadors. The partnership will see Crichton, Mitchell and Giteau participating in a broad range of Ledger-run activities designed to educate Australians on digital asset security, including video and podcast appearances, social media content, and events over the next twelve months.

Mitchell and Giteau are beloved former Wallabies with decorated careers in Australia and France, achieving significant success in Europe and at home. Crichton is a current NRL star for the Sydney Roosters and the Australian national team and was part of the Roosters’ 2019 premiership side.

“When I first entered the world of crypto, I was excited but also a little overwhelmed. There’s so much noise, so many platforms and services, yet very little clear guidance on how to stay secure. That’s where Ledger truly stands out—as an all-in-one, trusted platform for digital assets. Partnering with Ledger is a powerful way to help Australians cut through the confusion and take control of their digital assets with confidence,” said Mitchell.

“Crypto is quickly becoming ingrained into our everyday lives, from niche to mainstream”, said Angus Crichton, Sydney Roosters back-rower and State of Origin star. “With millions of Australians now holding digital assets, the security side is more critical than ever. I’m truly excited to work with Ledger in raising awareness around the importance of secure self-custody and making crypto much easier to use”.

“Throughout my career, I’ve learnt that fundamentals matter the most – you can’t skip the basics if you want long term success”, said Matt Giteau, Former Wallabies playmaker and Rugby World Cup veteran. “Secure Self-Custody is fundamental for crypto ownership, and I want to help Australian crypto users understand that protecting their digital assets is not complicated when you have the right foundation from the start”.

Recently launched in Australia, Ledger is widely regarded as the world’s most respected digital asset security company. It offers self-custody hardware wallets and digital asset management app Ledger Live, with more than 7.5 million devices sold to consumers in 165 countries and 10+ languages, 100+ financial institutions and commercial brands. Last year, the company launched its new generation of secure touchscreens, Ledger Flex and Ledger Stax.

“We’re excited to have Angus, Drew, and Matt join the Ledger family,” said Ariel Wengroff, EVP of communications and marketing at Ledger. “Australia is one of the most dynamic markets for digital assets, and with these rugby legends we want to make self-custody simple and clear — because it’s the only way to truly protect what you own”.

With around a third of Australians now owning crypto, Ledger and its ambassadors aim to make crypto more approachable and secure by raising awareness around the importance of self-custody where individuals and enterprises hold the keys to their digital assets.

The collaboration reflects a shared belief in the importance of personal digital security and education in a rapidly evolving landscape. By leveraging the ambassadors’ broad community reach and Ledger’s world-leading security expertise, the partnership will highlight how secure self-custody can build trust in Australia’s fast-growing digital economy.
