Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour hits 200 weeks on the Billboard 200, while Guts follows closely behind, … More
Olivia Rodrigo’s debut album Sour has nothing left to prove at this point. The set turned the rising star into a Grammy winner and a household name, and years later, its staying power is nothing short of remarkable. Even with another hit full-length now under her belt – and hopefully another one on the way – listeners continue to turn to the music that first introduced them to the singer-songwriter. This week, they push it to a special chart achievement.
Sour’s Current Billboard Presence
At one point, Sour was present on multiple Billboard rankings every week. These days, it’s not quite as omnipresent, but it’s still hanging on. This time around, the album appears on just one tally in America – the Billboard 200, the all-genre ranking of the most-consumed full-lengths in the U.S. Sour rises slightly this time around, improving from No. 61 to No. 57. As it holds on, it reaches a notable landmark.
Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour on the Billboard 200
The small gain isn’t the real story this frame. Sour has now spent 200 weeks on the Billboard 200. That’s just shy of four full years on the most competitive albums chart in the U.S., and it’s a career-best for Rodrigo. This is her first title to reach that important milestone.
While the musician has seen plenty of success in just a few years, she hasn’t yet had another project reach triple digits on the Billboard 200. Guts is on its way, but this special moment belongs to Sour.
Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts Isn’t Far Behind
Rodrigo has only released two full-lengths: Sour and its follow-up, Guts. That second effort also appears on the Billboard 200 this week, and it’s not far behind its predecessor. Guts lands at No. 60, just three spaces behind Sour.
Guts is Heading Toward 100 Weeks
While Sour has just reached the 200-week mark, Guts isn’t exactly a newcomer either. The project has now spent 80 weeks on the Billboard 200. With that kind of longevity already proved, it seems likely that the set will eventually reach the 100-frame mark sometime in 2025.
Guts is Performing Well on Multiple Billboard Charts
Unlike Sour, which only appears on one tally this frame, Guts is still present across multiple Billboard rankings. It lifts one rung on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums list, stepping up to No. 10. On the Top Alternative Albums ranking, it improves slightly to No. 7.
Strong Sales and Streams Keep Both Albums Alive
According to Luminate, Sour moved 14,800 equivalent units in the past tracking frame, while Guts was close behind with 14,600. Both sets sold a little less than 2,000 copies, while streaming activity made up the rest of those 14,000-plus units.
