Decentralized computing infrastructure provider Gaia has launched Gaia AI phone, which features on-device AI while serving as a full node in the company’s P2P AI network.
This project is ideal for users who want to use AI without relying on cloud-based platforms that maintain control over their data. It also addresses growing concerns about AI centralization and AI sovereignty.
Built on the latest Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone, the Gaia AI phone will process its tasks completely through the device.
At the same time, every individual phone will contribute computing power to the Gaia network. In return, users will earn token rewards for supporting other users’ AI tasks.

Gaia is also an alternative to current AI systems that extract value from user data. With its model, it can spread the processing power required to run queries across all users on the node, achieving decentralization.

According to Gaia COO Shashank Sripada, their phone shows decentralized AI can go toe-to-toe with centralized systems when it comes to performance, while giving its users incentives for participating.
People will have a first look at what the AI is capable of on Gaia’s live demonstration of its AI inference and network operations at the Korea Blockchain Week later this month.
Powerful Features Out of the Box
Aside from its AI capabilities, the Gaia AI phone will come with several ecosystem integrations, including EdenLayer’s AI gaming platform, Roam’s global eSIM data package, and Umy’s crypto-native travel booking discounts. Plus, more Web3 and gaming collaborations will be announced later this year.
