Sinners — Michael B. Jordan’s latest film with his Black Panther and Creed writer-director Ryan Coogler — is new in theaters. When will it be available to stream at home?
The logline for Sinners reads, “Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.”
Jordan stars as the twin brothers, Smoke and Stack, in Sinners. Rated R, Sinners also stars Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, Jack O’Connell, Wumni Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Miller and Delroy Lindo.
Sinners plays in Thursday previews and opens in theaters nationwide on Friday. The only way you can currently see the film is in theaters, so check your local listings for showtimes.
When Sinners comes to the home entertainment market, the first spot viewers will be able to see the film will be on digital streaming via premium video on demand. The theatrical to PVOD window for Warner Bros. releases is typically a month.
For example, the studio’s 2024 blockbuster supernatural comedy Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was released in theaters on Sept. 6, 2024, and made its PVOD debut on Oct. 8. More recently, the sci-fi comedy Mickey 17, which was released in theaters on March 7, arrived on PVOD on April 8.
If Sinners follows the same pattern, then viewers can expect the film to debut on PVOD on May 20 since new releases on digital streaming come out on Tuesdays.
When Sinners arrives on PVOD, viewers can expect to pay anywhere from $19.99 to $29.99 to digitally purchase the film or $14.99 to $24.99 to rent it for 48 hours.
Which Streaming Service Will Get ‘Sinners’ First?
Since Sinners is a Warner Bros. release, the film will make its streaming video on demand debut on Max, which is the Warner Bros. Discovery streaming platform.
Max offers an ad-based package for $9.99 per month and an ad-free package for $16.99 per month. The streaming platform also has an ad-free package with programming in 4K Ultra HD for $20.99 per month.
Typically Warner Bros. films take about two and a half to three months to debut on Max. For example, the Joker sequel Joker: Folie à Deux, which opened in theaters on Oct. 4, 2024, made its debut on Max on Dec. 13, 2024.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, meanwhile, arrived on Max on Dec. 6, 2024, three months after it opened in theaters on Sept. 6.
If Sinners follows the same pattern as those Warner Bros. releases, then viewers can expect the film to arrive on Max anytime between June 27 and July 11 since new films typically debut on Max on Fridays.
