The new program is the latest move in CEO Tara Comonte’s overhaul of WeightWatchers
Queen Latifah is the new face of WeightWatchers’ latest push on women’s health, with a menopause program launching just months after the company’s Nasdaq relisting and following its Chapter 11 filing earlier this spring to reduce debt.
The weight management company teed up the program earlier this summer, saying it would address overlooked gaps in care for midlife women. At the time, it appointed Dr. Kim Boyd as chief medical officer to lead clinical strategy. It also assembled a new board of directors reflecting its focus on medical care and digital health, including Mike Mason, former president of Eli Lilly’s diabetes and obesity division.
The new program spans perimenopause through postmenopause and offers hormone replacement therapy (HRT), GLP-1s and other treatments. Members also receive daily lifestyle guidance covering nutrition, movement, sleep and symptom management, along with specialized support through the Points Program to boost protein, fiber, calcium and whole foods during menopause. Menopause-specific virtual workshops and fitness content are also available, along with access to Registered Dietitians and clinicians for personalized nutrition therapy and medical care.

Dr. Boyd noted that hormone-related weight gain often resists traditional methods of weight loss.

For WeightWatchers, the menopause launch builds on a larger reset and caps a busy summer that included strengthening ties with pharma giant Novo Nordisk, appointing SoulCycle co-founder Julie Rice as its first chief experience officer and acquiring her community platform, Peoplehood. All of it comes under the watch of CEO Tara Comonte, who stepped in as interim chief executive after Sima Sistani’s departure last fall and moved into the role permanently earlier this year.
