As demand surges for GLP-1s, Amazon Prime members can receive free two-day shipping on weight-management medications, with same-day delivery available in some cities
Two of the biggest names in health and tech are teaming up to make prescription weight-loss drugs easier to get.
WeightWatchers is partnering with Amazon Pharmacy to give its Clinic members faster access to GLP-1s and other weight-management medications, plus real-time stock updates, automatic coupon savings and home delivery.
“At WeightWatchers, we’re committed to making it simpler and faster to access the weight management medications they need, and our collaboration with Amazon Pharmacy does exactly that,” WeightWatchers chief operations officer Jon Volkmann said. “By delivering speed, reliability and convenience, we’re helping members stay focused on their health goals, not on pharmacy logistics.”
Amazon Prime members receive free two-day shipping, with same-day delivery available in select cities. The partnership lands at a moment when GLP-1s are changing health outcomes, but also consumer behavior itself. Recent analysis from Harvard Business Review and PwC shows that households with GLP-1 users are already spending less on groceries, shifting into apparel (including workout and activewear) and reconsidering wellness and consumption habits.
It’s been an eventful year for WeightWatchers. After emerging from bankruptcy and relisting on Nasdaq this summer, the platform has expanded its alliance with Novo Nordisk to increase access to FDA-approved GLP-1s like Wegovy, appointed Dr. Kim Boyd as chief medical officer and launched a menopause program led by Queen Latifah that addresses hormone therapy, GLP-1s and lifestyle support for midlife women.
The company also brought on SoulCycle co-founder Julie Rice as its first chief experience officer and acquired her platform Peoplehood to strengthen community and coaching.
