In only the past few years, Timothée Chalamet has gone from a successful actor to a true movie star. He can now lead a Hollywood blockbuster to great success, and he’s earned quite a bit of critical acclaim, even snagging a second Oscar nomination at this most recent Academy Awards.
A number of Chalamet’s latest projects have included a musical element as well. He showcased his vocal chops on Wonka, and then steered his talents into a more adult arena when he took on playing the role of Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown. Both of those films have brought him to the Billboard charts, and the latest of the two helps the superstar rack up more wins on the weekly rankings.
Chalamet appears on a trio of Billboard charts this week. The A Complete Unknown soundtrack, which is credited to him and the more general “various artists,” returns to a pair of lists and debuts on another as interest in the movie – and the music featured in it – continues to grow.
Timothée Chalamet’s Album Debuts
This week, A Complete Unknown debuts at No. 22 on the Americana/Folk Albums chart. That Billboard list ranks the most-consumed full-lengths and EPs in those genres, and there’s plenty of crossover between the styles.
Chalamet and the unnamed various artists collect one of only two debuts on this week’s Top Americana/Folk Albums chart. Koe Wetzel opens at No. 10 with Live from the Damn Near Normal Tour.
A Complete Unknown Returns
A Complete Unknown also rebounds onto a pair of lists. It reenters the Soundtracks chart at No. 10 and also breaks back onto the all-genre Top Album Sales tally at No. 15. Those are new peaks on both rankings for the set, and it reaches those impressive placements in just its second frame in the past tracking period.
The A Complete Unknown Soundtrack is Selling Very Well
Luminate reports that the A Complete Unknown soundtrack sold a little less than 4,300 copies. That is up nearly 750% from the week before, when it mustered only 500.

The album wasn’t just released, and a vinyl edition didn’t recently drop, but excitement around the film is high once more. The movie was nominated for eight Academy Awards at the 2025 ceremony, including Best Picture and Best Actor, though it didn’t claim any prizes. Sadly, none of the Dylan tracks featured in the movie, nor any tunes by any of the other artists played in the film, were performed during the telecast, but it seems that such promotion wasn’t necessary to turn it into a smash once more.
