Wellness tech leader Therabody is leaning into athleticism with the launch of its newly formed Therabody Performance Team, a collective of six high-performance athletes who will receive exclusive access to Therabody’s products, scientific research and personalized recovery plans.
The lineup features track and field star Ezra Frech, co-founder of Angel City Sports and a two-time Paralympic gold medalist; cyclist and entrepreneur Phil Gaimon, a two-time World Hillclimb Champion; LA-based cyclist Andrew Jackson; Olympian, author and filmmaker Alexi Pappas; triathlete Chelsea Sodaro, who won the 2022 Ironman World Championship; and skier and filmmaker Cody Townsend, who’s on a mission to ski and climb all 50 classic descents in North America.
“Recovery isn’t a luxury for athletes like these — it’s a necessity,” Therabody chief marketing officer John Solomon said. “We’re proud to support individuals who are driving sport forward. They’re bold, mission-driven and relentless in their pursuit of growth. With this team, we’re putting science, innovation and support into the hands of people who will do something meaningful with it.”
For Frech, Therabody has played a key role in his recovery and training for years. Now, he’s setting his sights on the 2028 Games.
“After winning two gold medals at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, I am going for three golds at the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympics,” Frech said. “I put everything I have into my sport, and I’m proud to officially join the Therabody Performance Team alongside other athletes who have the same mentality. This partnership is a continuation of the important work I’ve already done with Dr. J, and I am thrilled to take it to the next level.”
As part of the collaboration, Therabody will actively support each Performance Team member by participating in their events and celebrating their achievements, showcasing the team’s stories and devotion to sport throughout the year.
