Playboi Carti charts 30 tracks from his new album Music on the Hot 100, becoming just the third … More artist to claim that many spots in one week, joining Taylor Swift and Morgan Wallen. Until recently, only two musicians had ever dominated the Hot 100 to such an extreme that they filled nearly one-third of the entire tally at once. It was a feat that not long ago would have seemed impossible, and unimaginable even just a decade ago. Slowly, that ultra-elite list is starting to grow, and as of this week, it now includes a hip-hop superstar.

Playboi Carti Scores 30 Hot 100 Hits at Once

This week, Playboi Carti floods the Hot 100 with an incredible 30 tracks. That means he’s responsible for nearly one-third of all the most popular songs in America right now. He accomplishes this showing thanks to the debut of his new album, Music, which sends all of its 30 songs onto the tally. As the rapper controls most of the ranking, he finds himself in rarefied company.

Taylor Swift, and Morgan Wallen Did So First

Carti becomes just the third act in history to score 30 or more Hot 100 hits in a single frame. The rapper joins Taylor Swift and Morgan Wallen, the only two artists who had managed this feat until now. Wallen was the first, and Swift followed shortly after. This showing is still a new one on the Billboard chart, and one star has joined this club in each of the past three years.

Morgan Wallen Was the First to Chart 30 Hits in One Week

Wallen started it all back in 2023. When he dropped his massive full-length One Thing at a Time, the album’s 36 tracks all found their way to the Hot 100. That made him the first artist in history to claim more than one-third of the ranking at once. To this day, he still holds the record for the most simultaneous placements.

Taylor Swift Matched That Feat a Year Later

Swift matched Wallen’s success just over a year after he made history. In May 2024, her blockbuster album The Tortured Poets Department turned the Billboard charts into her personal home. One week, she filled 32 spaces on the Hot 100, more than anyone had ever thought possible from a pop album.

Wallen Almost Set This Record Twice

Wallen’s record-breaking run with One Thing at a Time didn’t stop after its debut. One week after he initially made history, 29 tracks from the album were still on the Hot 100. That placed him just one cut short of repeating the 30-hit milestone.

If the rumors are true, he might get another shot soon. His new album, I’m the Problem, is expected in mid-May and is rumored to feature 37 songs. If it performs anything like its predecessor, Wallen could reset his own record.

Playboi Carti Claims a Quarter of the Top 40

Carti’s smash “Evil Jordan” nearly launches at No. 1, instead starting at No. 2. Not far below, his collaboration with The Weeknd, “Rather Lie,” opens at No. 4. Carti places eight more cuts inside the top 40, meaning one-quarter of that region belongs to him.
