The assisted stretching franchise already counts over 400 studios across 41 U.S. states — it’s now got its sights set on global growth, too
The assisted stretching boom is proving its persistence in the fitness and wellness industry, as one of the movement’s leading brands takes its first step into the international market.
Stretch Zone, a U.S. leader in practitioner-assisted stretching, is opening its first location in Canada.
The move adds to over 400 locations the brand already has across 41 U.S. states — with zero closures since its founding in 2004.
“Our first international opening represents an exciting step forward for Stretch Zone as we introduce our innovative approach to flexibility and mobility to an international audience,” said Stretch Zone CEO Tony Zaccario. “Canada was a natural choice for our first global expansion because of its strong focus on wellness, active living, and preventative health care, values that align perfectly with Stretch Zone’s mission.”
Under Zaccario, who took over as CEO in 2019, Stretch Zone has sustained a 58% compound annual growth rate, entering ten new states in a single year and opening 250 studios nationwide over the past three years.
Stretch Zone is known for its practitioner-guided stretching using a patented strapping method on proprietary tables. The brand has capitalized on the growing popularity of stretching therapy for muscle recovery and longevity.
Earlier this year, the company celebrated the opening of its 400th location, bolstered by its partnership with former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, who often utilized the assisted stretching while competing professionally in the NFL.
Canadians can visit the new Ontario-based location at 1898 Avenue Road, North York. Zaccario added that Stretch Zone only plans to continue growing its international presence, and its new location in Ontario is just the first step.
“Our long-term goal is to make practitioner-assisted stretching as common and accessible as personal training or chiropractic care,” Zaccario said. “This opening marks the beginning of a new chapter in our journey to elevate health and mobility for people around the world.”
