Pilates Addiction is seeing explosive early franchise growth across the U.S. under parent company Sequel Brands
Pilates Addiction is on a tear. The California-based boutique fitness brand has sold more than 100 territories in U.S. states nationwide since launching its franchise program at the end of June.
Those territories add to the 11 Pilates Addiction studios that are already open and operating.
Led by CEO Sarah Luna, a former executive at brands including Club Pilates and Pure Barre, Pilates Addiction is moving fast to capture a growing market of female consumers seeking performance-based Pilates.
“This is unprecedented for Pilates,” Luna said of Pilates Addiction’s fast growth. “Selling over 100 territories this fast, across so many states, shows two things: the market is ready for a modern, results-driven Pilates – and the experience we’ve built is turning heads. Franchisees want in, and clients are already hooked.”
The brand operates under Sequel Brands, the new boutique fitness franchising company launched earlier this year by Xponential Fitness founder Anthony Geisler. Sequel currently houses four concepts: Pilates Addiction, iFlex Stretch Studios, Beem Light Sauna and Body20.
Since opening its first studio in West Hollywood earlier this year, Pilates Addiction has quickly established its footprint. Franchise agreements are in place or coming soon in states including Florida, Tennessee, New Jersey, Colorado, Michigan, Washington, California, Texas, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, Arizona and Ohio.
The brand says it’s received demand for hundreds more territories from prospective franchisees.
The news comes as ClassPass reports that Pilates has earned the top spot as the most-booked workout for the second year in a row.
Pilates Addiction’s WundaFormer, a proprietary machine that fuses a reformer, jump board, ballet barre and Wunda Chair into a single full-body workout system, delivers a high-intensity, results-driven experience that keeps clients engaged, according to the franchise. The brand offers four class types ranging from 30-minute to 50-minute sessions.
“The design, energy and experience we’ve built are catching attention – and franchisees are taking notice. We’re moving fast, building a national footprint, and showing exactly what modern, results-driven Pilates can be,” Luna said.
Prospective Pilates Addiction franchisees are required to have a minimum of $100,000 in liquid capital, $500,000 in net worth and a credit score of 680 or higher, according to the brand’s website.
