KARACHI: HBL Pakistan Super League franchise Multan Sultans have launched a humanitarian initiative to support children affected by the ongoing conflict in Gaza during the ongoing edition of the tournament, it announced on Saturday.

The team will donate Rs100,000 for every six hit by their batters and every wicket taken by their bowlers, with all proceeds directed to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF), a charity providing essential aid to children in the region.

The announcement was made ahead of the team’s opening match against Karachi Kings here. Last season, Multan Sultans hit 76 sixes and claimed 94 wickets, highlighting the potential impact of this initiative.

Ali Tareen, the franchise owner, emphasised the dual focus of the campaign.

“Cricket unites people, and we want to channel that spirit into supporting a vital cause,” he said. “While we aim to excel on the field, we are equally dedicated to standing with children in need.”

The initiative has garnered support from the team’s players, management, and partners, a Sultans statement said.
