Starting July 1, members and staff at the New York strength and social club will have access to free counseling in a bold wellness industry move
For some, the gym is where they let off steam. Now, it’s also where they can talk it out.
Starting July 1, members and staff at Solace New York, a high-end strength and social club in Manhattan, will gain access to free, confidential counseling services provided by Solace House, a nonprofit specializing in virtual mental health care.
“This is about meeting people where they are—not just physically, but emotionally,” Solace House Inc. CEO Dr. Nandini M. Collins said. “By embedding access to mental health care into a fitness community, we’re rewriting the playbook on how and where healing begins.”
Solace New York is also building a new donation tool that will give members the option to support mental health care access with each visit.
“At Solace New York, we believe that true wellness extends far beyond the four walls of the gym or what you’re able to accomplish physically,” Solace New York CEO Bryan Bullock said. “The other side of that coin is mental health—something every human being grapples with, yet too often goes unspoken or unsupported. By partnering with Solace House, we’re making a clear statement: mental wellness matters just as much as physical strength.”
The move also fulfills a 2025 prediction by Kyle Perreira of Lincoln International: that mental health support would be integrated into the gym floor.
“We’re mirroring physical and mental health so much more every day, that eventually these gyms will need to further cater to both sides — it’s going to be truly holistic fitness,” Perreira told ATN earlier this year. “I think that’s definitely going to be a trend that we’ll see play out as fitness concepts continue to find ways to incrementally connect with their members.”
