Health tech startup Maxiom Labs has launched its performance-optimizing AI platform following an investment from Switzerland-based genetics firm DNAthlete, the closure of an oversubscribed $2 million seed round led by Conscious Ventures and the opening of a $6 million Series A.
At the core of Maxiom’s platform is “Max,” a personal SmartCoach trained on peer-reviewed science and analyzes DNA, training data, sleep patterns, nutrition and even weather conditions to deliver daily recommendations for optimal performance. The platform also integrates with leading wearables such as Garmin, Apple Watch, Oura and more.
“Inside each of us is the blueprint for the best of us—but we’re drowning in noise and bad advice,” Maxiom co-founder and CEO Eric Harr said. “This is a decades-old, multi-trillion-dollar problem. We built Maxiom to deliver truth, precision and simplicity—to unlock human potential at scale.”
Other features include “AskMax,” which provides users with advice and can adapt over time to deliver smarter insights, “MaxConnect,” allowing users to share insights across families and teams and precision recovery recommendations using heart rate variability, training load and sleep data.
Now, Maxiom Labs is gearing up to enter clinical trials to demonstrate that it can outperform human experts.
“Maxiom’s clinical trial, launching in June, will be a randomized double blind study to examine the effects of different coaching techniques that includes both human and Max’s strategies,” Fulbright scholar and principal investigator Dr. Judith Lambton said.
