The water brand known for killing plastic is now coming for your caffeine fix
Liquid Death is officially entering the energy drink space with a new line of zero-sugar, “unextreme” sparkling energy beverages set to launch in January 2026. The new product marks the company’s first ready-to-drink category expansion in more than three years.
Tapping into a growing demand for cleaner, functional energy, the brand says its Sparkling Energy line is formulated with 100mg of naturally sourced caffeine, roughly the same as a cup of coffee, along with B and C vitamins, magnesium and L-theanine for smooth focus. Notably absent: sugar, artificial colors, sucralose, or aspartame.
“We didn’t want to make another jacked-up chemical bomb,” said CEO and founder Mike Cessario. “Our goal was to create something with actual health credibility—something you’d feel good about grabbing instead of a third cup of coffee.”

To support the development, Liquid Death partnered with longevity and wellness expert Dr. Darshan Shah, who also appears in the brand’s signature tongue-in-cheek launch campaign.
Energy drinks are already the most commonly co-purchased item with Liquid Death water, according to the company, making the move a natural progression in its expansion playbook.
With its growing cult following, bold branding and now a health-forward approach to caffeine, Liquid Death is hoping to wake up the energy drink category without the crash.
