“Die With a Smile” spends a thirteenth week at No. 1 globally, tying Miley Cyrus’s “Flowers” and … More
For the past decade and a half, Lady Gaga has scored hits in just about every genre, partnered with a wide range of collaborators, and reinvented her sound more times than most can count. This week, she claims the top track around the world again alongside fellow superstar Bruno Mars, and this latest win is special.
Their duet, “Die With a Smile,” holds at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, continuing a spectacular run that now puts the pair in elite company. The tune has become one of the most successful in the history of the worldwide ranking, and there’s no telling how much longer it will run the show.
Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars Lead With “Die With a Smile”
This week, “Die With a Smile” spends another frame at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, standing out as the biggest hit in the world once again. The vintage-sounding collaboration has now spent 13 weeks as the ruler of the tally, though not all of those frames have been consecutive.
“Die With a Smile” becomes just the fourth track in the history of the Billboard Global 200 to manage 13 weeks in the penthouse. That alone would be worth celebrating, but this new stint at No. 1 also allows Gaga and Mars to tie another major star.
Lady Gaga Ties Miley Cyrus
As “Die With a Smile” collects its thirteenth week at No. 1, it now matches the career-defining hit “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus. That single, which was released at the start of 2023, also managed 13 turns on top of the Billboard Global 200.
Only Mariah Carey and Harry Styles Beat Lady Gaga
Gaga and Mars still trail two other megastars who’ve managed even longer stays at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. Mariah Carey holds the record with her holiday classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which has racked up 19 weeks in the top spot. That total has been spread across multiple holiday seasons from 2020 through 2025—and it’ll almost certainly add to that figure later this year.
In second place comes Harry Styles, whose upbeat smash “As It Was” managed 15 weeks at No. 1. The song was one of the biggest hits of 2022, when it reigned on this tally.
Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars Beat Rosé
“Die with a Smile” was tied with another single last week as one of the longest-running rulers, but now that match has been broken. Rosé dominated the Billboard Global 200 for 12 weeks between 2024 and this year with her breakout smash “Apt.” That track, which also happens to feature Mars, now descends slightly and becomes the fifth-longest-running champion in the tally’s tenure.
“Die With a Smile” may still have more life left at the top. If it can hang on for just a couple more weeks, Gaga and Mars could pull into a tie with Styles, or perhaps even move past him.
