From front-desk automation to predictive insights, Jonas Fitness unveiled its plan to bring artificial intelligence tools to gym and club operators

Software provider Jonas Fitness has unveiled a multimillion-dollar, multiyear plan to develop AI-driven solutions for fitness and medical wellness operators, focusing on real-world tools that simplify daily work and enhance the member experience.

The first phase centers on front-desk and end-user improvements, introducing AI features designed to streamline daily operations and unify tasks that previously required multiple systems.

“With powerful new search capabilities and significantly faster response times, the system can now perform real-time software updates without disrupting service—eliminating the downtime common with thin client installations,” Jonas Fitness president Sandy Crutcher told Athletech News. “Best of all, users can effortlessly switch between the new AI-powered Front Desk and the traditional interface for a seamless transition.”

According to Crutcher, club operators have told the Texas-based company they want innovative features that deliver dependable outcomes. Yet while there’s plenty of excitement around AI, it sometimes comes with confusion. However, the advent of AI brings a host of benefits for operators, addressing key pain points while also personalizing member engagement, predicting churn and streamlining scheduling, reporting and communication.

“Our commitment is to invest in the work, partner closely with customers, and introduce capabilities designed to simplify daily operations while adding efficiencies,” Crutcher said.

The company also emphasizes its commitment to responsible development, guided by principles such as privacy-by-design, strong data stewardship, operator control over data usage and a dedication to accessibility and inclusive design.

Before a wider rollout, Jonas Fitness plans to work with several U.S. operators, from single-site studios to multi-location and hospital-based facilities, to validate its AI features in real-world settings. As milestones are reached, the company says it will share updates, publish insights and open early-access programs for operators who want to test new capabilities firsthand.

“Our AI roadmap is designed to enhance efficiency and empower users, beginning with the transition to a modern web-based platform that enables smoother, faster release cycles,” Crutcher said. “In parallel, we’re advancing our data intelligence capabilities to give operators seamless access to insights on trends and behaviors — helping decision-makers quickly identify challenges, uncover opportunities and take action in real time.”
