Jesse Love is fresh off his Nascar Cup Series debut, and he’s ready for more.

The 20-year-old racer announced on Wednesday that he will have two more opportunities at Nascar’s top level this season. He will pilot the No. 62 Chevrolet for Beard Motorsports at Texas Motor Speedway on May 4, followed by the Brickyard 400 on July 27 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Love made his Cup debut at Bristol Motor Speedway with Richard Childress Racing, the same team he competes for in the Xfinity Series. He piloted a third entry – the No. 33 car – for RCR, finishing 31st, five laps down.

“Making my Cup Series debut last week at Bristol was a moment that I had been working towards my entire life,” Love said in a statement. “Thanks to the Beard family, I’ll have a chance to at least do it a couple more times this season. The goals are to keep collecting experience and learning the Cup car.

“Both races at Texas and Indy will allow me to gain knowledge of how this car races at different tracks, which will hopefully set me up to pounce on future opportunities. Even though they’re a small, family-owned team, the Beards have built a legacy of bringing fast and well-prepared racecars to the track. I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do together.”

Beard Motorsports attempted but missed the Daytona 500 this year with Anthony Alfredo. The small, single-car team has made 30 Cup Series starts, aligning with Richard Childress Racing since 2017. The car will also compete at Talladega Superspeedway next weekend with Alfredo behind the wheel.

Love will be sponsored by C4 Energy, which backed his effort at Bristol.

Love has two career Xfinity Series wins through his first 42 starts. This year, he sits third in the regular season standings after winning the season opener at Daytona.
