J-Hope has been steadily building an impressive solo career for years now, and his latest win shows just how far he’s come. The BTS member has already shown that he can make it on his own — and now, he’s once again climbing the charts in America.

This week, he returns to the Hot 100 with a brand new track, and the single helps him move up on an important all-time list in the U.S. As his solo success continues, J-Hope lands among some familiar names, matching not just one, but three fellow K-pop superstars.

“Sweet Dreams” Debuts on the Hot 100

J-Hope is back on the Hot 100 this week with “Sweet Dreams,” his new collaboration with R&B artist Miguel. The track opens at No. 66, instantly giving the rapper and dancer another major solo hit.

This latest debut brings his total number of solo appearances on the tally to six—a figure that’s turned out to be especially meaningful. With that many Hot 100 placements to his credit, J-Hope ties several other South Korean solo stars for the second-most appearances in history.

J-Hope Ties Jimin, V, and Jennie on the Hot 100

Earning half a dozen hits on the Hot 100 as a K-pop soloist puts J-Hope in elite company. He now sits in second place when looking at the most Hot 100 appearances by any musician from that genre who works on their own, matching three other massive names: his BTS bandmates Jimin and V, as well as Blackpink member Jennie.

Jennie Scores Two Hits This Week

Jennie is also performing well on the Hot 100 this week, and her success is especially impressive. While J-Hope adds one new hit to his discography, Jennie earns a pair of placements thanks to her debut solo album.

The Blackpink singer appears at No. 80 with “Handlebars,” a duet with pop powerhouse Dua Lipa. She also debuts at No. 83 with “Like Jennie.” She increases her total number of solo Hot 100 wins in one frame, jumping from four to six. As she does, she bypasses several other K-pop stars who were previously ahead of her, and catches up to J-Hope, Jimin, and V in one swift move.

Jung Kook Leads Among K-Pop Soloists

While J-Hope and Jennie now share the No. 2 spot on the list of the most successful K-pop soloists on the Hot 100, another BTS member remains in the lead. Jung Kook has now appeared on the ranking seven times with solo songs, putting him just one win ahead of the trio behind him.

Of course, all of these artists originally rose to fame as part of larger groups, and those collectives still outperform their individual members when it comes to Hot 100 success. BTS has now placed 27 tracks on the tally, while Blackpink has claimed nine.

“Sweet Dreams” Dominates Several Billboard Rankings

“Sweet Dreams” doesn’t just debut on the Hot 100 – it actually appears on four Billboard rankings this frame, showing that it’s a true global hit. It may sit lowest on the main singles chart, but the collaboration reaches No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart. The track marks J-Hope’s first time ruling that list, and it means “Sweet Dreams” is the bestselling song in America as it arrives.

The cut also performs exceptionally well outside the U.S. On the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., it launches at No. 12. On the Billboard Global 200, which includes data from every country, it starts at No. 16.
