“One of the biggest advantages of touchless recovery is that you don’t need the manpower of a traditional spa,” says Dunn. “You can deliver high-value services without adding to your staffing burden. It’s a win-win.”

This is especially important in environments with light staffing, limited space, or remote maintenance needs. Both HydroWave and RedWave are designed to be easy to use, easy to maintain, and easy to integrate into existing wellness offerings.

Meanwhile, RedWave’s LED wavelengths reach up to 850nm to support cell turnover at the muscular and joint-level, reduce inflammation, improve sleep, enhance skin clarity and more.

And post-pandemic, the appeal of touchless recovery has only grown, especially among populations seeking high-quality care without physical contact.

“There is a lot of research that shows women with past trauma prefer touchless modalities,” said Dunn. “We’ve heard from older members who want recovery without risk. And we all know Gen Z’ers have a more holistic approach to health and demanding solutions like these.”

Integrated Wellness: The New Normal

As touchless recovery becomes more mainstream, facility operators are getting creative with how they package and deliver these services. Some gyms bundle RedWave or HydroWave into personal training packages as a recovery boost. Others use red light therapy before or after manual massage to deepen the benefits. “Red light is no longer niche,” says Dunn. “It’s something discerning travelers are asking for, because they don’t want their wellness routines disrupted when they’re away from home.”

In spaces like Carbon World Health in Wisconsin – a hybrid medical wellness facility that combines gym access with health services, red-Light sits alongside diagnostics and recovery protocols. Larger HVLP and full service brands are using touchless recovery as a supportive service for members using GLP-1 medications, which often cause muscle loss.

“We’re seeing trainers prescribe HydroWave or RedWave to help those members recover faster and protect muscle mass,” says Dunn. “It’s all part of a more holistic, integrated approach to health.”

JK Products & Services is already looking ahead. With deep roots in light science, the company’s R&D pipeline is exploring everything from new light wavelengths to sensory deprivation and EMF-reducing environments.
