The Bay Club Company has snapped up Washington’s Harbor Square Athletic Club, its third acquisition in the Pacific Northwest in recent years.
The newly acquired club joins PRO Club Bellevue and PRO Club Seattle under Bay Club’s growing West Coast umbrella, which includes facilities in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles and Portland. Harbor Square Athletic Club, located in Edmonds, delivers a full suite of amenities, from premium gym equipment, indoor and outdoor racquet courts for tennis and pickleball fans, basketball, an indoor swimming pool, group fitness classes and dedicated spaces for yoga and Pilates.
“Designed to cater to both individuals and families, acquiring Harbor Square Athletic Club was a natural fit for Bay Club’s continued growth plans,” The Bay Club Company EVP of new business development Victor Woo said. “Integrating Harbor Square into our Pacific Northwest Campus reinforces our campus-driven model, which creates spaces where people connect, grow and thrive together.”
Bay Club says it’s on track to surpass 50 clubs and more than 200,000 members by the end of the year.
In an interview last year with Athletech News, Joe Dalecio, Bay Club’s chief customer officer, shared some insight into how the group tackles strategic decisions on everything from food and beverage offerings to acquisitions.
“We look at it in three steps – we want a dominant position in the geographical zones, a best-in-class product and innovative amenities and an open membership system where we allow the consumer to define who they want to share their club experience with,” he said last November.
The Bay Club’s open membership system—allowing members to add up to eight people under one plan—is one of its key differentiators. The program launched after the pandemic and has proven successful in attracting a broader range of members, including young professionals who share memberships with friends or co-workers.
“We’re not just growing—we’re creating new ways for our community to connect,” Woo added. “With enhancements to our shared membership, like member matchmaking programs and technology-driven community platforms, we’re making it easier than ever for members to build meaningful connections and share experiences.”
