With deals from TRX, InBody and more, GymGPO helps independent gyms cut costs, swap strategies and stay competitive
Independent gyms and boutique studios just got a new secret weapon: GymGPO, a platform that slashes costs and encourages peer support for emerging players in the fitness industry.
The just-launched group purchasing and private peer network platform has already locked in exclusive discounts with 15 top fitness suppliers, including TRX, InBody, Vapor Fresh, Skelcore and HeyLibby, an AI-powered team member built for gyms and studios, with more expected to join soon.
Membership costs $90 a year.
“We built GymGPO so independent gym owners can buy what they need at prices usually reserved for the biggest chains – and tap into the power of a tight-knit industry group chat,” Stephen Steinberg, founder of Raw Athletics, the parent company of GymGPO, said. “I’ve personally experienced the benefits of being a part of an industry group chat. There’s no substitute for bouncing ideas off peers in real time.”
Beyond access to a private WhatsApp group where operators can trade ideas and crowdsource solutions in real time, GymGPO also provides curated introductions, early access to products and services and benchmark data to help owners understand how they stack up.
“The HeyLibby team lives and breathes health and fitness,” HeyLibby CEO Tony Small said of the AI-powered platform, which raised $4.5 million in seed funding led by Aglaé Ventures and Vertical Venture Partners earlier this year.
“We’re proud to support hundreds of gym and wellness locations with AI phone and sales agents that help them serve their communities better,” Small continued. “Joining the GymGPO network fits perfectly with our mission to advance health and wellness. We’re excited to offer exclusive discounts to GymGPO members.”
