The legendary pop-rock outfit sees two classic collections climbing once again, with one making a surprise return, while the other simply refuses to go away – not that people are tired of it, of course. The resurgence shows that U.S. fans can’t get enough of the singles that helped make Fleetwood Mac one of the most successful acts of all time, and that they will consume the tunes in every form possible.
Fleetwood Mac’s Greatest Hits Returns to the Billboard Charts
This time around, Greatest Hits by Fleetwood Mac reappears on a pair of rankings in the U.S. The set reenters the Billboard 200 at No. 173 while also returning to the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, where it climbs back to No. 40, reentering the top 40 region once more.
According to Luminate, Greatest Hits moved 9,000 equivalent units during the most recent tracking span. That figure is mostly made up of streaming activity, though just over 1,000 copies were sold as pure purchases. That’s an impressive stat for a compilation that’s been purchased by millions already — and it’s not even the only win the group claims in America this frame.
Fleetwood Mac’s Greatest Hits on the Charts
Greatest Hits has already climbed as high as No. 4 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart. If it can manage to stick around for just a few more frames, it will hit 300 weeks on that list. On the Billboard 200, the set has now racked up more than 300 weeks as well, though it’s never broken into the top 10. Instead, its high point remains No. 14.
Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours Is Still Selling
As Greatest Hits returns, another Fleetwood Mac staple continues to display incredible staying power. The band’s Rumours is still charting incredibly well, appearing on half a dozen Billboard rankings this week—and living inside the top 40 on all but one of them.
The blockbuster remains a top performer on both the Top Rock & Alternative Albums and the more specific Top Rock Albums lists, where it is still present inside the top five. On the Billboard 200, Rumours stays put at No. 33, reaching 628 weeks on that competitive ranking.
Rumours Will Never Not be a Chart Win
Released back in 1977, Rumours is now less than a year and a half away from hitting 700 weeks on the chart. It will almost certainly reach that number, becoming one of a very, very small number to do so.
Rumours includes many of the band’s biggest and most familiar hits, like “Go Your Own Way,” “Dreams,” and “Don’t Stop.” The fact that it’s still this present on the charts, while another compilation that also includes those same tunes returns, shows that Fleetwood Mac’s discography really is one of the most valuable ever.
