FC Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal briefly touched on offers from European rivals such as Paris Saint-Germain when talking to Mundo Deportivo.
As the winner of the Kopa Trophy and Golden Boy award, while also a Euro 2024 champion often compared to Lionel Messi, regular Barca starter Lamine is quite understandably one of soccer’s hottest properties that an endless list of top clubs would love to have in their squads.
President Joan Laporta has already spoken in public about mouthwatering bids that have come in for the La Masia product to become Kylian Mbappe’s replacement at PSG, which were then turned down by an outfit that isn’t tempted to take the money and run despite its well-documented financial woes.
Lamine is simply priceless and irreplaceable, and he also isn’t interested in leaving the club of his life with whom he is expected to sign a long-term contract upon turning 18 in July.
At least that’s what he communicated to Mundo Deportivo, which asked him about the proposals that have come in since his progression to the elite as a 15-year-old.
“They don’t reach me, but if they reached someone around me they wouldn’t have told me. First, and above all, because I had a contract and then because I think it was an unfeasible thing for me to go to another club,” Lamine first said about the offers.
For Lamine, Barca is “the only club I’ve been at apart from La Torreta, which was the team I started with”.
“But yes, I owe everything to Barca. In the end it’s where I grew up. I was at La Masia from the age of twelve, and from the age of seven playing for Barca,” he explained.
In a further declaration of his loyalty to the Blaugrana, Lamine stated that he thinks “no one doubts how I am as a Barca player, and how much I love this club”.
“Since I made my debut I have said it and I think it will be resolved in the end,” he added as per his contract extension.
“If both parties want something to happen, it will happen. But I think no one can doubt how I feel about this club,” he then concluded.
