The new device integrates AI-powered cooling for the head and neck, potentially reducing the time it takes to fall asleep

Eight Sleep, the company known for its sleep tech products including a flagship mattress cover, has launched its latest innovation, the Pod Pillow Cover. The new product brings temperature regulation to the head and neck, one of the first of its kind.

The global sleep market is estimated to be worth around $500 billion. Eight Sleep has built its brand around applying biometric data and technology to create products that adapt to the body throughout the night.

“Our goal is to reinvent sleep by addressing every variable that disrupts it: from temperature to elevation, sound, and beyond,” said Matteo Franceschetti, CEO and co-founder of Eight Sleep. “With each innovation, we’re building the first-ever operating system for sleep, powered by AI and personalized data.”

Eight Sleep’s Pod Pillow Cover uses silent hydro channels to circulate water and maintain a consistent temperature all night. According to the company, the Pod Pillow Cover can stay up to 25 degrees cooler than traditional pillow covers. Clinical studies cited by the company indicate that keeping the head and neck at a stable, cooler temperature can reduce the time it takes to fall asleep by as much as 20 percent.

The cover slips over any standard or king-sized pillow, maintaining the feel and firmness of the pillow. It also links with Eight Sleep’s Pod Cover and Pod Blanket. Couples can use two Pod Pillow Covers on the same bed, each controlled independently but powered by a single Hub.
