Echelon Revives Faith-Based Fitness Classes, Citing ‘Meaningful Moment’ in US

Christian-themed classes were part of Echelon’s offerings before the pandemic, but were paused amid COVID restrictions. The company pointed to the death of Charlie Kirk in its decision to bring back the series

Echelon Fitness is revisiting a format few fitness brands have embraced, as the connected fitness company relaunches its faith-based fitness programming with “Sunday Soul,” a Christian-based weekly cycling series.

Christian-themed classes were part of Echelon’s offerings before the pandemic, but the program was paused when restrictions prevented instructors and ministers from leading together on stage, according to the company.

The series, returning Sunday, Sept. 28, will be led by new Echelon instructors Maribel Maignan and Adriel Solorzano, who combine rhythm-based cycling, contemporary Christian music and motivational coaching.

“Our classes are always built around fitness, but Sunday Soul brings in Christian themes of gratitude, perseverance and grace,” Echelon Fitness founder and CEO Lou Lentine said. “It’s a ride that fuels the body while uplifting the spirit.”

According to Echelon, the relaunch of its faith-based programming comes at a particularly “meaningful moment.” The company pointed to the death of Charlie Kirk and the “public demonstration of forgiveness and faith by his family” as reminders of resilience and community, saying Sunday Soul offers members a way to channel that spirit through movement and music each week.

“Soul Sundays remind us that how we start matters,” Maignan wrote in a blog post. “When I begin my week with faith, gratitude and intention, I’m better equipped to handle whatever comes my way. The ride isn’t just about breaking a sweat — it’s about resetting my body, mind and spirit so I can step into Monday with strength and peace.”

Sessions will be streamed live and available on demand through the Echelon Fit app.

Beyond the relaunch of Sunday Soul, Echelon recently announced it would be reorganizing its digital content arm in a move to make its live programming more consistent across time zones.
