Through the new partnership, members can consult with Dr. B to see if their HSA or FSA funds qualify for use on fitness expenses at Orangetheory, Basecamp Fitness and Anytime Fitness

Purpose Brands has partnered with telehealth provider Dr. B to help U.S. consumers use Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) dollars toward eligible fitness expenses at its brands, including Anytime Fitness, Orangetheory Fitness and Basecamp Fitness.

With the move, the company joins a growing roster of Dr. B fitness partners, including F45 Training, SoulCycle and boutique studio platform Xplor Mariana Tek. The Bar Method, also part of the Purpose Brands portfolio, is expected to join the program later this year.

“Exercise is medicine, and we must do whatever we can to make it more accessible and affordable for all Americans,” Anytime Fitness U.S. president Nick Herrild said. “Anytime Fitness and our other fitness brands are with our members on every step of their health and wellness journey, and we’re thrilled that Dr. B can offer services to help them cover those costs. We need to move fitness more closely to the healthcare equation for all Americans, and this is a strong step in that direction.”

Through the new partnership, members can consult with the Dr. B telehealth platform to determine if their HSA or FSA funds can be applied to qualifying fitness expenses, including monthly dues and personal training.

The partnership is part of Dr. B’s mission to bring tax-advantaged healthcare spending into the fitness and longevity space. Founded and led by Zocdoc co-founder Cyrus Massoumi, the platform launched its Shed It program last year, a holistic weight loss offering that combines GLP-1 medication with fitness partnerships and includes a Letter of Medical Necessity to apply HSA/FSA dollars toward both treatment and exercise.

“There’s no question that exercise plays a huge role in improving health, and we’re seeing more and more patients looking into how they can use their HSA or FSA to cover fitness expenses,” Massoumi said. “We connect people with licensed providers who help determine if fitness can support their health condition, and our platform handles the medical and compliance steps behind the scenes—so patients can trust the process, get the paperwork they need, and focus on feeling their best. We’re excited to work with Purpose Brands to help more people access affordable ways to support their health through movement.”

Beyond fitness, Dr. B offers low-cost access to a wide range of treatments across sexual and reproductive health, dermatology, primary care and chronic condition management.
