CR Fitness Holdings is closing out summer with “Training Day,” featuring free personal training sessions and a chance to win prizes
Crunch Fitness franchisee CR Fitness Holdings will host “Training Day” on August 30, a one-day event offering members 1.6 million free personal training sessions across its 86 clubs in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Texas and Tennessee.
Members who complete their first personal training session will unlock a second free session and receive 20% off personal training through August 31.
“At Crunch, personal training is about giving every member the tools, guidance and confidence to achieve their best self,” CR Fitness Holdings co-founder and CEO Tony Scrimale said. “Training Day is all about helping our members experience the next level of support and motivation. It’s our way of investing back into their journey.”
On Training Day, members can book a free 30-minute personal training session and, if they show up, they might leave with more than a workout. One member will walk away with 50 free personal training sessions, while five others will score 10 sessions each. Crunch is also sweetening the deal with giveaways like HyperVolt massage guns for five members who complete a session during the event.
Members can reserve their spot by visiting the Personal Training Bar at their local Crunch club. The offer is valid for one day only. More details and sign-ups are available here. CR Fitness Holdings, operated by a group of fitness industry veterans, plans to expand into Arizona and reach 100 clubs by 2026.
The franchisee group has also made a significant investment in its personal training business by adopting a member-first approach. In an interview with Athletech News late last year, Darrick Druce, vice president of personal training at CR Fitness, said about 60% of the franchisee’s new members purchase an introductory personal training session. Of those who attend the kickoff session, roughly 42% go on to buy a longer-term package.
Druce added that CR Fitness takes an aggressive approach to talent recruitment, sometimes conducting dozens of interviews before hiring the right candidate, who then goes through a comprehensive onboarding program. The strategy has paid off, with trainer retention far outpacing the rest of the industry.
“We only have a 4% (monthly) turnover rate right now, which is unheard of in the industry,” Druce told ATN. “I’ve been part of organizations before where they have over 100% turnover across 12-month timeframes.”
