CrossFit will celebrate 20 years of “finding the Fittest on Earth” with the 2026 Games being held in San Jose’s SAP Center
CrossFit is heading home for its 20th anniversary.
The 2026 CrossFit Games will take place July 24–26 at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, marking a return to the brand’s roots nearly two decades after the first Games were held in Aromas.
The 650,000-square-foot arena, better known to hockey fans as “The Shark Tank,” will host top athletes from around the world as they compete for the title of Fittest on Earth before a crowd of more than 17,000. While the format remains largely the same, CrossFit is adding live qualifying opportunities for age-group and team athletes and bringing back Quarterfinals.
The move to San Jose follows years of competition outside the state, including long runs in Carson and Madison. CrossFit will also host its second Owners and Coaches Conference in the days leading up to the event, July 22–23, setting the stage for a full week of community and competition in California.
The upcoming season follows CrossFit’s bold new “F*ck the Quick Fix. CrossFit Is the Cure” campaign, which marks a return to the brand’s gritty, counter-culture ethos. Under chief marketing officer Jenna Hauca, the brand has been leaning back into its hardcore fitness, celebrating discipline and community over shortcuts as it looks to reenergize its 11,000 affiliates worldwide.
Ticketing and hotel information will be released in the coming months.
From a wider lens, fitness competitions are becoming an increasingly appealing outlet, from local throwdowns to global showcases where athletes are chasing personal records but also seeking connection, accountability and something to work toward. It’s also become a competitive space, with fitness operators and events vying to capture that same sense of purpose and community that keeps members coming back year-round.
