The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess turned Chappell Roan from an underground artist just hoping to make a living into a certified superstar. The singer-songwriter’s first complete collection shoots up multiple Billboard charts this week after the young musician took to the main stage at the Grammys, and later in the evening, walked away a winner.
Roan’s breakout project is living on four Billboard charts this week. It appears inside the top 10 on all of them this frame, as it climbs significantly thanks to her big night at the Grammys.
The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess performs best on the Vinyl Albums chart, which is specific to that medium. The introductory release nearly reconquers the tally as it improves from No. 11 to No. 2. This week, only The Weeknd keeps Roan from another frame at No. 1 on the Vinyl Albums chart. His new set Hurry Up Tomorrow dropped just before the Grammys, and he proves unbeatable this time around.
Last week, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess was present inside the highest tier on just one of the four Billboard rankings that it nearly dominates this frame. On the Top Album Sales chart, Roan dances from No. 10 to No. 3.
The same studio effort also surges from just outside the top 10 back into the most competitive space on both the Top Streaming Albums list and the Billboard 200. On the former, it halves its placement, moving from No. 16 to No. 8. It manages essentially the same showing on the Billboard 200, where it steps from No. 14 to No. 6.
The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess has hit No. 1 on half of the Billboard charts it appears on this frame. Roan scored her initial leader on the Top Album Sales and Vinyl Albums rankings with the project that has made her a household name.
The full-length nearly topped the Billboard 200 and Top Streaming Albums chart, though it hasn’t yet managed to actually hit No. 1. Instead, it has been forced to settle for second place, which is still an impressive position for a musician that many people weren’t familiar with, even just a year ago.
Sales largely power Roan’s ascent this week, but that statement isn’t specific to her sole album. Her singles “Pink Pony Club,” “Good Luck, Babe!”, and “Hot to Go!” all improve in terms of purchases, and they’re all climbing on at least one Billboard tally apiece.
