Chappell Roan’s fans in the United Kingdom clearly can’t get enough of her. In only the past year or so, she’s turned into one of the most talked-about new pop stars, and her breakout moment isn’t over yet. Even during one of her most commercially successful periods across the Atlantic, the newly-named Grammy winner is still struggling to hit No. 1 – and now she’s been blocked from the top spot twice in a row, but not in the usual way.
“Pink Pony Club” Gallops to No. 2
This week, Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” charges up the Official Singles chart, rising from No. 4 to No. 2. It very nearly conquers the tally, but ultimately settles for second place. It’s a phenomenal showing for a half-decade-old pop tune, but not quite a win this time around.
Last Week, “The Giver” Opened at No. 2
What makes Roan’s current placement unique is that just one frame ago, she was in the exact same position… with a different song. Her recent release “The Giver” opened at No. 2 on the same ranking last time around. This frame, it slips slightly to No. 5.
Alex Warren Blocks Roan Again
In both instances, Roan was held back by the same song. Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” continues to dominate the Official Singles chart, holding on at No. 1 for yet another week. The track has clearly become a breakout smash, and it could end up as one of the biggest singles of the year in the U.K.
“Pink Pony Club” Has Already Hit No. 1
Even though “Pink Pony Club” doesn’t return to the throne this frame, it’s not unfamiliar with the view from the top. The song reached No. 1 a short time ago, several years after it was first released. Roan revived the cut during her 2025 Grammys performance, which took place just before she picked up the Best New Artist trophy. The showing instantly turned into a viral sensation, and the years-old tune was suddenly one of the biggest hits in the world.
Chappell Roan Scores a Trio of Wins
While “Pink Pony Club” and “The Giver” are both holding strong in the top five, another Roan classic is still going strong. She claims one more space on the Official Singles chart with “Good Luck, Babe!,” the track that first helped her break into the mainstream. This week, it drops slightly from No. 29 to No. 32, but it’s still inside the top 40.
Next week will be an especially important one for “Good Luck, Babe!,” as the tune has now lived on the ranking for 51 frames. If it can manage just one more, it’ll celebrate its first full year on the list.
