Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga’s “Die With a Smile” stays at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, matching … More Mars’s previous record and rewriting global chart history. Bruno Mars is having yet another incredible week on the charts, which has been happening a lot lately. His recent smash, “Die With a Smile,” holds steady at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, as he and Lady Gaga once again claim the biggest song in the world.

As he leads the charge once again, Mars matches his own best showing on the ranking, tying one of his past hits – one which was released right around the time “Die with a Smile” dropped – for a remarkable achievement.

Bruno Mars Claims Two of the Longest-Running No. 1s

With 12 weeks now spent atop the Billboard Global 200, “Die With a Smile” ties “Apt.” as the fourth-longest-running No. 1 in the chart’s history. Both of these record-setting smashes belong to Mars, though he wasn’t alone on either track. “Apt” is a collaboration with Blackpink’s Rosé, while “Die With a Smile” sees him teaming up with Gaga.

Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga Beat The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber

As “Die With a Smile” climbs the all-time leaderboard, it passes another major hit. Until recently, “Stay” by The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber was tied for the fourth-longest reign on the Billboard Global 200, with 11 frames at No. 1.

Now, Mars has officially pushed past “Stay” — twice. Both “Die With a Smile” and “Apt.” now outrank the 2021 smash, and he is the only artist with two 12-week champions on the chart.

Only Three Songs Top Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga

While Mars now claims two of the five longest-running No. 1s in Billboard Global 200 history, he’s still chasing a few tracks that have spent even more time at the top. Only three songs have managed longer reigns: Mariah Carey’s holiday staple “All I Want for Christmas Is You” (19 weeks), Harry Styles’ “As It Was” (15 weeks) and Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” (13 weeks).

With “Die With a Smile” still performing well, it could soon match or push past Cyrus’s “Flowers,” perhaps in just a few days.

Bruno Mars Controls the Top Two Spots

Mars isn’t just leading the Billboard Global 200 — he’s also the runner-up. “Apt.” holds at No. 2 this week, making him the rare artist to occupy both of the highest spots simultaneously.

The stability on the Billboard Global 200 extends beyond just Mars’s two smashes. The entire top four remains unchanged this frame, with Kendrick Lamar sitting at No. 3 and No. 4. The rapper’s songs “Luther,” featuring SZA, and “Not Like Us” hold steady in those spots, respectively.
