Bay Club’s Shared Membership model now includes its four private golf properties, a move that should make the sport more accessible for enthusiasts on the West Coast
The Bay Club Company is extending its signature Shared Membership model to include its four private golf properties, reshaping how golfers access and experience the sport on the West Coast.
The new program allows up to eight people to share one initiation fee, providing them with access to Bay Club’s four golf courses, as well as more than 30 fitness and lifestyle locations across California and the Pacific Northwest. Members can customize who joins their plan, a departure from traditional golf club models that typically limit memberships to a single household.
The move underscores Bay Club’s philosophy that membership should reflect everyday social networks, not just familial ones. With growing demand for lifestyle-driven memberships, the model could appeal to a younger, more socially-connected generation of golfers.

Shared Golf Memberships include tiered access levels, which offer a combination of complimentary golf, booking privileges and priority tee times. Members also receive access to more than 145 private courses and resorts through Bay Club’s partnerships with Troon Privé and Troon Advantage.
The move comes as golf clubs nationwide continue to invest in upgrades and amenities to attract and retain members. According to industry data cited by Bay Club, 62% of golf facilities have invested an average of $419,000 in improvements ranging from technology to irrigation and simulators.
The Shared Golf Membership rollout comes as Bay Club continues its broader expansion strategy.
Backed by private equity firm KKR, the company recently acquired 425 Fitness, a trio of Seattle-area clubs offering amenities like hot yoga, saltwater pools and recovery zones with Theragun and HydroMassage. The deal expanded Bay Club’s Pacific Northwest presence, with a Washington Campus that now includes PRO Club Bellevue, PRO Club Seattle, Harbor Square Athletic Club and the 425 Fitness locations. The company is also eyeing additional acquisitions in major Mountain and Desert region cities as it builds toward national scale.
