Bay Club’s third acquisition of 2025 brings Griffin Club Los Angeles into its 30+ location portfolio

The Bay Club has acquired Griffin Club Los Angeles, a racquet, fitness and social institution on the city’s Westside, strengthening its Los Angeles Campus and bringing the company’s portfolio to more than 30 locations with 150,000 members.

The deal marks Bay Club’s third acquisition of 2025, following 425 Fitness and Harbor Square Athletic Club in the Pacific Northwest, and adds a property that underwent a $30 million rebuild in 2018.

“Griffin Club’s legacy and location made it an ideal fit for our Los Angeles Campus and broader portfolio,” Bay Club chief marketing officer Tracy Cioffi said. “This acquisition reflects our continued investment in fostering community and connection across our clubs. We are committed to creating spaces that bring families, friends and colleagues together, shaping meaningful communities through shared experiences.”

The new addition offers 11 LED-lit tennis and pickleball courts, coaching and complimentary classes, including Pilates, yoga, spin and barre. There is also high-end fitness equipment, personal training, two outdoor swimming pools, kids programs and curated dining.

Bay Club’s growth has been driven by its Shared Membership model, which lets up to eight people join under a single membership. The approach broadens the idea of “family” to include friends, coworkers and neighbors, with one primary member managing billing and account oversight. Groups can customize their access across locations and amenities.

“While we continue expanding into new regions, we remain equally focused on strengthening our foundations and supporting our current campuses,” Cioffi said. “The acquisition of Griffin Club reflects that commitment—bringing its renowned facilities, vibrant community and third-space ethos into our Los Angeles Campus to further deliver an exceptional active lifestyle experience.”
