It’s costing more and more to gas up the hot rods that Donnie Beson has spent a lifetime tinkering with. He’s not questioning his support for President Donald Trump, but he feels as though the war in Iran has distracted the Republican president from the issues that got him elected. “Come on, Trump. Worry about us,” said Beson, 68, of Woodland Park, Colorado. “We’re in a billion-dollar-a-day war. It’s like, ‘Man, you forgot about the other stuff, and you got to take care of that first.’”Trump still has deep support among Republicans, but a new poll from The Associated Press-NORC…
Bitcoin has clawed its way back toward $70,000 after a sharp slide to roughly $67,000, but Glassnode says the rebound still lacks the kind of demand profile needed to turn stabilization into a more durable recovery. In its latest weekly report from March 25, titled Awaiting Liquidity, the on-chain analytics firm argued that several pressure points have eased at once, including sell-side intensity, ETF outflows and dealer-driven market imbalances. Even so, muted spot volumes, subdued leverage and a dense band of overhead supply suggest the market is not yet in a high-conviction breakout phase. Weak Spot Bitcoin Demand Could Limit…
Netflix sources, speaking to left-leaning entertainment media, are now fully denying comedian Mark Normand’s claim that one of its executives told him Muslims are “dangerous people.” The dispute comes after Normand said that Netflix executives told him to cut jokes about Muslims from his comedy special because they were afraid of a backlash to the company, The Hollywood Reporter wrote. Appearing on the Tuesdays with Stories!, Normand began talking about his Netflix comedy special, Mark Normand: None Too Pleased. “We got to do a conference call,” Normand explained. “There’s 18 Jews on there with a speakerphone and my Jews. And they…

Meta didn’t consult its Oversight Board last year when it announced sweeping policy changes to content moderation and a rollback of third-party fact checking in the United States in favor of Community Notes. But the company did ask the board for advice on how to expand the crowd-sourced fact checks to other countries. Now the Oversight Board is publishing its advice to Meta. In a 15,000-word policy advisory opinion, the group urged Meta to be cautious with an international rollout, warning that an expansion of the program could “pose significant human rights risks and contribute to tangible harms” if safeguards are…
In brief The UK has sanctioned cryptocurrency marketplace Xinbi, which provides services to scam centers including selling stolen personal data and satellite equipment. A new law passed in Brazil designed to bolster the fight against organized crime will allow authorities to seize digital assets from criminals and potentially use them in the public’s interest. The “Anti-Gang Law” was signed into law by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Tuesday, creating much harsher penalties for crime leaders while providing authorities the means “for the financial, logistical, and material strangulation” of organized crime entities. “The law represents progress in combating organized crime, by incorporating mechanisms for financial strangulation and strengthening the state’s capacity to respond to the growing complexity of these criminal structures,” said Brazil’s…
