When Will A Minecraft Movie Be Streaming On Max?
In addition to its digital release, A Minecraft Movie will eventually stream on Max. Warner Bros. has not yet announced when the film will arrive on the platform, although the studio typically adds its theatrical releases to Max between 60 and 100 days after they come out in theaters. With that timeline in mind, A Minecraft Movie could premiere on Max sometime in June or July 2025.
For comparison, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire began streaming on Max 97 days, just over three months after its theatrical release. The 2023 movie musical Wonka had a shorter window, arriving on Max 84 days after it hit theaters. The DC Studios flop Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom was the fastest to make the jump, streaming on Max just 67 days after its December 2023 debut.
Is There Going To Be A Minecraft Movie 2?
As of May 13, there are no official updates on a sequel to A Minecraft Movie. However, considering the massive success of the first film, it seems very likely that a second movie will be in the works at Warner Bros. soon. Without revealing spoilers, the post-credit scene also introduces a new character from the video game who could set up a new adventure in a sequel.
In April, Warner Bros. executives Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy said that “the ink might not be dry on the deals yet” when asked by Deadline about sequels for A Minecraft Movie and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. However, De Luca added that fans can expect announcements on both “imminently.”
