The family-owned, boutique performance gym focuses on strength training and touts its concept where “luxury meets grit”
GYM NYC has opened its fourth studio in New York City, a 10,500-square-foot facility in Midtown on East 31st Street that combines performance-driven equipment with high-end design.
The boutique performance gym, founded in SoHo in 2016, is outfitted with redesigned hack squats, the Hammer Strength leg press, glute bridge and the new pendulum squat, along with specialty Hammer Strength machines, a full Life Fitness collection and functional and personal training zones.
Members will also find BodyArt Barre NYC (BAB NYC), a women’s fitness studio with barre, Pilates and ballet, along with premium locker rooms and a partnership with Mora Café that brings Latin-inspired drinks on site.
“Iron builds more than muscle,” GYM NYC partner and founding member Chris Peña said. “GYM NYC creates an environment where New Yorkers push limits, elevate performance and thrive together. With Lexington, we’ve built a home where luxury meets grit and where community and performance are fused under one roof.”
The latest opening from the family-owned business follows a newly built Brooklyn location at 85 Livingston St. that debuted in February. The boutique performance brand says it is exploring opportunities in Miami and Caribbean markets, including a potential expansion to Punta Cana by 2027.
“This Iron Paradise is ours,” founding member, partner and general manager Julio “Junior” Ramos said. “The Lexington location represents our commitment to building a space where members and trainers alike feel supported, challenged and inspired every single day. It is not just a gym; it is a community.”
