Pop-up courts will launch ahead of a permanent Racquet & Padel Club at Miami’s $2B Midtown Park development

Rosso Development and Midtown Development are partnering with Ultra Padel to launch Ultra Club Midtown, a 2-acre pop-up padel facility at the future site of Midtown Park, a $2 billion mixed-use project in the heart of Midtown Miami. Scheduled to open later this year, the venue will feature 11 outdoor padel courts, three children’s courts and a small food and beverage program, along with community events and programming. The pop-up will serve as a preview for the permanent eight-court Racquet & Padel Club planned for the development’s first phase.

Padel, which blends elements of tennis and squash, has been one of the fastest-growing sports globally and is gaining significant traction in the United States. The number of courts nationwide has jumped from fewer than 30 in 2020 to over 600 in 2024, with projections of 30,000 courts by the end of the decade, according to a new report from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and global media consultancy Padel 22. The study attributes this surge to a mix of celebrity involvement, community-focused club models, media engagement and institutional support for competitive play. Miami has been a central player in the sport’s rise, hosting high-profile events such as the Reserve Cup and attracting venues like Reserve Padel and Padel Haus that merge sport with lifestyle amenities.

Ultra Padel, known internationally for its high-quality club design and operations, will also oversee the permanent Racquet & Padel Club at Midtown Park. The facility will be integrated into a broader plan that includes luxury residences, offices, dining, retail, green space and public art.

The first residential tower, Midtown Park Residences by Proper, will include 288 units and over 40,000 square feet of amenities such as a pool deck, spa, pickleball court and social and recreational spaces. Situated between the Design District and Wynwood, the new padel venue is positioned to become a gathering place for both the neighborhood and the wider Miami community.
