Mo Farah’s URunn App Gets Runners Race-Day Ready

Olympian Mo Farah teams up with Adam Clarke and FitTech company WithU to launch URunn, an AI-powered coaching app built for runners of all levels

Fresh off an appearance in Wimbledon’s Royal Box, Sir Mo Farah is turning decades of elite racing experience into a digital coaching app for everyday runners.

The four-time Olympic gold medalist has unveiled URunn, a new performance-focused app co-founded with his longtime training partner, 2024 Manchester Marathon winner Adam Clarke, and UK-based fit tech company WithU.

URunn enters an increasingly crowded fitness app market, but its founders say it stands out with its elite-level expertise and AI-powered adaptive training plans tailored to each runner’s pace, recovery needs, lifestyle and goals. The app supports distances from 5K and 10K to half and full marathons, and adjusts in real time to mimic how coaches manage athlete development.

The app’s debut also comes as running enjoys a resurgence, particularly among younger and first-time participants. According to the Great Run Company, which operates some of the UK’s largest road races, participation across its events rose 39% in 2024 compared with the prior year.

The company’s Rewind24 report found that 53% of its entrants were first-time participants, up 13% from the year before. Additionally, nearly half (47%) of all runners were aged 35 or under, a cohort that is increasingly drawn to longer distances, especially half marathons. The sport is also becoming more inclusive. Women made up 46% of Great Run participants last year, a 2% increase from 2023.

“Using the knowledge and experience that I have acquired over my career, l am now in a position where I can share everything I know to help other runners,” Farah said. “The beauty of running is that every milestone is a huge achievement. Whether that’s improving your 5K time or training for your first marathon. In my mind, if you’re trying to get better, you’re already a performance runner – so you deserve to be coached like one.”

URunn plans to roll out additional race formats and training programs in future updates.

Alongside Farah and Clarke, the coaching team includes Charlotte Purdue, the current British marathon champion, and Rory Knight, founder of TrackLife LDN and a veteran performance coach. Runners receive real-time pace feedback during workouts, along with 24/7 support from Stride AI, URunn’s intelligent assistant that offers goal tracking, motivation and answers to user questions. Community tools like in-app chat and the Run Feed let members swap advice, share milestones and stay connected with other runners.

“URunn isn’t just another training app,” Clarke said. “It’s built by people who live and breathe the sport. We’ve seen firsthand how generic plans often fall short, because no two runners are the same. That’s why we’ve created something smarter, with personalized coaching that adapts to you, not the other way around. By combining elite-level insight with intelligent tech, we’re giving runners of all levels access to the kind of support that’s normally out of reach. It’s ambitious, it’s different and it’s exactly what the running world needs.”

URunn is available now on the App Store and Google Play, with subscriptions starting at £12.99 per month or £93.99 per year. New users can try it free for seven days with no commitment.
