The new program leverages Walmart shopping data to offer real-time, personalized nutrition guidance, turning everyday grocery trips into healthier outcomes

Walmart is bringing healthcare and everyday grocery shopping even closer together with the launch of its new Everyday Health Signals program, developed in partnership with Soda Health. The initiative, now available to select Medicare Advantage and Medicaid flex card members, uses real-time shopping data to provide personalized nutrition guidance and support healthier choices.

Eligible members who opt into the program will receive tailored wellness insights based on their Walmart.com shopping patterns, including nutritional information on items like fruits and vegetables, healthy recipe suggestions and personalized shopping lists to support their individual health goals.

“At Walmart, we’re focused on making it easier for individuals and families to access everyday foods that support their health,” said Dr. Pravene Nath, Group Director, Consumer Health and Data Solutions at Walmart. “This partnership helps turn everyday shopping into an opportunity to make meaningful health improvements.”

For health plans, the program offers a unique opportunity to integrate personalized, data-driven engagement tools that can inform care coordination, identify benefit opportunities and improve overall wellness outcomes for members.

With 90% of Americans living within 10 miles of a Walmart, Everyday Health Signals has the potential to create unprecedented scale for food-as-medicine initiatives, using grocery habits to fuel preventive care in a familiar, accessible retail setting.
