A new year means new returning shows to watch on broadcast and cable or binge on streaming networks, and the next few months will bring back many of the top shows. A returning program is any comedy, drama or reality series that has already aired at least one season. A number of beloved shows will bow this winter and beyond, including Paramount+’s hit Yellowstone spinoff 1923, ABC’s perennial smash The Bachelor, and the much-anticipated second season of AppleTV+’s Severance. Broadcast often has a lot of returning show debuts around the new year and amid football season, taking advantage of big audiences for the NFL playoffs to advertise the returns. Streamers including Netflix, Disney+, AppleTV+, Amazon Prime Video and Hulu also have hit programs returning.

What Are The Top 2025 Shows Returning?

Top shows include those that have built a solid following in their previous seasons. Yellowstone is one of the top programs on cable or broadcast, so no surprise that 1923 has become a hit. It has been nearly two years since the first-season debut of the show, which follows early Dutton family relatives building their homestead in 1923.

One of the most-heralded streaming shows in recent years, Severance, also returns for season two. Apple released the first eight minutes of the dark dramedy before the January bow.

Sesame Street season 55 premieres on HBO amid questions about the show’s future. The pay cable network recently said it will no longer air Street after this season.

ABC’s The Bachelor returns in late January with Grant Ellis, just the second Black bachelor in the series’ 29 seasons.

Many competition series on broadcast will also return, including Fox’s The Masked Singer and The Floor, CBS’s Survivor and The Amazing Race, and NBC’s The Voice.
