Imagine Dragons front man Dan Reynolds has been using his imagination for a new venture. The artist behind hits including “Believer” and “Radioactive” is the co-founder of a videogame company whose first release packs a turbo-charged version of childhood favorite game capture the flag, and original music by Reynolds.

Night Street Games, the indie studio co-founded by Reynolds and his brother Mac Reynolds, who manages Imagine Dragons, will enter the market in 2026 with Last Flag on Windows PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Console platforms in the works.

Last Flag is set in a “funk-blasted ‘70s-inspired universe,” where players are transformed into contestants on the world’s most-watched game show—hosted by the mysterious media mogul Victor Fex. “When the cameras start rolling, players leap into an outdoor arena to hide their team’s flag, then scramble to reveal the enemy’s location by controlling radar towers and scouring the map’s multitude of hidden nooks and crannies,” according to the game description.

Each game lasts 20 minutes or less, and players can compete in two teams of five—there are 10 possible characters to choose from—in a classic game of capture the flag with lots of futuristic modifications. Among them, characters don’t just get eliminated when they’re caught, they get vacuum-tubed off to the green room where they can rejoin the fun.

In keeping with the ‘70s vibe, the game will be powered by an original soundtrack featuring fuzzy guitars and analog synths crafted with real vintage gear by Dan Reynolds, Grammy-nominated producer/writer JT Daly (Benson Boone, K.Flay, Bully), and Night Street Games’ soundsmith Dave Lowmiller (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Battlefield, Dead Space).

The game holds a special place of nostalgia for the Reynolds brothers.

“When I was in third grade, my ‘What do you want to be when you grow up’ answer was ‘run a video game studio.’ Oddly specific, but I guess I really meant it,” said Mac Reynolds in a statement. “Dan and I grew up playing capture the flag in the woods at night with flashlights, friends, and lots of adrenaline. Last Flag is our attempt to honor the purity and magic of that hide and seek experience—brought to life by the incredible team of developers we’re lucky enough to stand beside.”

Gamers can sign up at LastFlag.com for a change to become a contestant in the alpha playtest launching later this year.
