Nick Carter has been a global pop superstar for three decades now. He made his name as one of the members of the Backstreet Boys — a group he remains part of to this day and which ranks among the most successful vocal acts of all time. Over the years, Carter has also delivered a handful of projects on his own, which have been met with middling commercial success.
But it’s been quite a while since he last gave fans a solo collection. Carter is now back with his new full-length Love Life Tragedy, which has quickly become a fast seller in the United States.
Nick Carter’s New Album Hits the Top 10
Love Life Tragedy currently sits at No. 7 on the iTunes top albums chart in the U.S. It’s the seventh bestselling full-length on the platform at the moment, and its placement suggests it may have a shot at reaching at least one or two Billboard rankings after its first full tracking frame finishes.
At the moment, Carter is competing with several other superstars who also have new albums out. He trails just-dropped releases from Morgan Wallen, BTS singer Jin, and Snoop Dogg. Impressively, he manages to outperform efforts from Sleep Theory, Linkin Park, and even Britney Spears, at least as of the time of writing.

Fridays are typically jam-packed with new albums and song releases, as they mark the beginning of a new tracking week. Carter aimed to stand out from the crowd by dropping Love Life Tragedy early, on Thursday (May 15). The full-length quickly shot into the top 10 on iTunes in the U.S. and has remained there ever since.
Nick Carter Returns to Solo Music After a Decade
Love Life Tragedy is Carter’s first solo album in a decade. He last delivered a solo project with All American in November 2015. His only successful solo effort in America to date remains Now or Never, released in 2002, when the Backstreet Boys were still one of the top-performing musical acts in the country. That set climbed to No. 17 on the Billboard 200.
Carter returned to the tally more than a decade later alongside New Kids on the Block member Jordan Knight, as the two teamed up for a collaborative project titled Nick & Knight. That set nearly cracked the top 20 for a short time.
