THC Infused Non-Alcoholic Beers To Celebrate 4/20

The merging of the non-alcoholic brewing space with cannabis is a recent invention with a few players in the game.

Go Brewing

With 4/20 approaching, I would be remiss not to discuss something new that I have only seen until recently: the THC and CBD infused non-alcoholic (NA) beer. And when I say “relatively new,” I mean it. Go Brewing’s Easy Man golden pale was released just at the beginning of 2025 and a few more brands are being introduced later in 2025 like Float House.

NA beer has grown rapidly in the past few years due to many of reasons: from people being more health conscious to the boosting of flavor and quality of NA craft. But bringing THC into the NA sphere is something entirely new and a few brands seem to be jumping at this opportunity to fill the segment at a time when cannabis culture in the U.S. feels like the Wild West.

To be clear, a lot of THC and CBD infused drinks exist nowadays, with regular seltzers being a popular choice. A simple Google search will show many, many different brands from teas to other beverages. The law is also particularly confusing about the combining of malt based beverages with THC so seeing breweries be innovative with this approach is leading to new evolution of cannabis and NA beer.

Gordon Whelpley, who founded Float House, stopped drinking alcohol two years ago and has many years of beer industry experience as a brewer. He was looking for something that he could enjoy and create that combined his knowledge of brewing with something that can be relaxing like cannabis.

“In social drinking occasions or end of day unwinding after the kids are asleep, a low-dose of THC brings you right to that special floaty place without trading feeling good and having fun for a hangover,” said Whelpley.

So what brands exist? There are only a few and since they are relatively new, there is not a lot of information as the segment is still super young and growing.

Float House

Float House

Connecticut based (Connecticut has to be the epicenter of the NA sphere as the most popular NA brand in the U.S., Athletic Brewing, is based in the town of Milford), Float House makes a couple of options. Float House makes an IPA and a Lite Lager with 3 grams of THC as well as 6 mg of CBD. Float House will be available for sale in Connecticut in late April with an online, direct-to-consumer portal opening soon after. A third option TBA will be available soon as well. A four pack will sell for $15.99.

Go Brewing

Go Brewing’s Easy Man

Naperville, IL’s Go Brewing has created Easy Man golden pale, a brew with 3 grams of THC and 3 grams of CBD. This NA beer is also gluten free. They also have a hazy version that is 5 mg THC and 5 mg CBD. You can also order these online if you live in a state where buying a beverage like this is legal and a six pack of the pale is $21.99.

Tripleswitch Brewing Co.

Tripleswitch

Available throughout the Southeast, Tripleswitch’s NA beers are 0.0%, not just “less than 0.5% ABV” which the government recognizes as alcohol free (although you’d have to drink a LOT of them to even feel the effects). Based in Charlotte, NC, Tripleswitch makes a few choices including an IPA, Mexican-style lager, and a hazy IPA with Bravo, Cascade, Citra and Mosaic hops. Each can has 5 mg of Delta 9 THC and 5 mg of CBD. They are the only one I’ve seen who list their calories as large as the THC and CBD. A four pack of any of their styles is $17.99.

So where can you buy these? While some of these products are not for sale everywhere as cannabis is still federally illegal, some states allow the sale at local liquor stores (beverage giant Total Wine, for example, is allowed to sell THC drinks) while some regulate the sale to speciality shops and weed dispensaries.

Paul Pirner, co-founder of Tripleswitch, thinks the future of this new beverage is bright.

“We have the opportunity to meet a massive group of people where they are, with the product they want,” said Pirner. “We really believe a shift of that scale is coming soon as people figure out how to use these products as an alcohol alternative. Plus, it’s fun, and we all need more fun these days.”
