Gen Z’s Down To Use AI To Feel Better After Festivals

A majority of Gen Z festivalgoers feel exhausted, dehydrated and undernourished, a new Lifesum survey finds—but many are open to AI tools to help them stay on track

Gen Z may flock to music festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo, but many young attendees are left mentally and physically drained by the experience, according to a new survey by Lifesum.

The global healthy eating app surveyed 2,000 Gen Z festivalgoers ages 18 to 30 and found that 78% feel dehydrated, exhausted and nutritionally deprived after attending. Sixty-two percent said they barely eat proper meals at festivals, 49% regret their food and beverage choices and 58% believe festival food is overpriced and unhealthy—yet still buy it out of convenience. Despite 32% reporting fatigue from dehydration, 67% said they don’t track their water intake.

On the bright side, Lifesum found that 68% of Gen Z is open to using an AI tool to track nutrition and hydration during festivals—an area the company has invested in through its AI-powered Multimodal Tracker. The feature allows users to log meals using photo recognition, voice commands or barcode scanning, set reminders for water intake and receive nutrition insights to help avoid energy crashes.

“Festivals are unforgettable, but let’s be real—three days of fast food, dehydration and no sleep leave you wrecked,” Lifesum lead nutritionist Signe Svanfeldt said. “That’s why more and more Gen Z are turning to AI solutions like Lifesum‘s AI-powered Multimodal Tracker as the must-have festival hack. It’s like having a personal nutritionist in your pocket, helping you stay hydrated, fueled and energized all weekend long so you can keep the party going without burning out.”
