It’s been years since Linkin Park dominated the Billboard charts with the kind of consistency and impact the band has managed in the past several months. This week, the Grammy-winning act is back with a brand new track, “Up from the Bottom,” and while the tune doesn’t explode out of the gate as some recent releases have, it still finds room to shine on the charts.

“Up From the Bottom” Debuts

Linkin Park’s new single manages to break onto a pair of Billboard charts this frame. Its strongest showing comes on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart, where it debuts at No. 5. That ranking tracks the bestselling digital songs in the U.S. that the company classifies specifically as hard rock — an important distinction that gives the group a better shot at climbing higher.

Linkin Park Hits a Special Milestone

Thanks to the quick success of “Up From the Bottom,” Linkin Park has now scored 30 top 10 hits on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart. That’s a milestone few acts have even approached in the tally’s years-long history.

Out of the 40 songs Linkin Park has pushed to this tally — which at one point featured more than 10 positions — almost all of them have reached the upper tier. 13 of those tracks have gone all the way to No. 1.

Linkin Park Scores the Only Debut This Week

“Up From the Bottom” doesn’t face much competition when it comes to new arrivals on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart. In fact, it’s the only debut this frame.

Behind Linkin Park, two familiar favorites return to the tally. Ram Jam’s “Black Betty” reappears at No. 8, while Creed’s “Higher” sneaks back in at No. 10. That latter tune has now spent 52 weeks — a full year — somewhere on the list.

“Up From the Bottom” Debuts on Multiple Charts

Beyond the hard rock-specific chart, “Up From the Bottom” also manages to place on the more broadly-defined Rock Digital Song Sales chart. That tally includes everything from soft rock to alternative to metal, so it’s no surprise that Linkin Park’s new track performs slightly worse there.

This time around, the song launches at No. 14 on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart. With this cut, Linkin Park has now sent 47 different tunes to this particular list.

“Up From the Bottom” is Just the Beginning

“Up From the Bottom” wasn’t released as a standalone single. The song serves as the lead promotional push for the forthcoming deluxe edition of From Zero, Linkin Park’s most recent album. That collection dropped in the fall of 2024 and marked the band’s formal return following the tragic death of frontman Chester Bennington more than half a decade ago. Since it arrived, From Zero has performed well across various charts, and its standout singles, like “Heavy Is the Crown” and “The Emptiness Machine,” have become some of the most successful rock releases in recent memory.
