Lady Gaga sees a pair of older hits return to the U.K. charts, including “Shallow” and “Sweet Sounds … More of Heaven,” while Mayhem holds steady in the top five. Lady Gaga’s catalog is once again growing in the United Kingdom — but not in the way that some fans might expect. Just last week, her new album Mayhem and many of its tracks debuted in impressive positions across a number of rankings in that country. Now, with some of those songs already slipping (or even disappearing), it’s her older tunes, that longtime supporters are snapping up again. Several of her singles return to a variety of lists this time around, and interestingly, they have nothing to do with her current era.

Two Lady Gaga Collaborations Return

A pair of collaborations from Lady Gaga’s discography stand out as comebacks. “Sweet Sounds of Heaven,” a soulful and star-studded track fronted by The Rolling Stones and also featuring Stevie Wonder, is back on the Official Physical Singles chart. The tune returns at No. 39, earning a place inside the top 40 once again. It’s the only one of Gaga’s resurgent hits to climb that high on any chart this frame, but that’s not its only achievement worth noting.

“Sweet Sounds of Heaven” Celebrates a Milestone

“Sweet Sounds of Heaven” isn’t just a top 40 winner again, it’s also celebrating a full year on one specific U.K. tally. The cut has now spent 52 frames on the Official Physical Singles chart, which ranks the bestselling tunes in the U.K. available on formats like CD, cassette, and vinyl.

“Shallow” Finds Space on Multiple Tallies

While “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” appears high, it’s only present on that one ranking. Another fan-favorite Gaga duet, “Shallow” with Bradley Cooper, manages to re-enter two different lists this frame.

The Oscar and Grammy-winning track returns to the Official Singles Downloads chart at No. 94. It also reappears just beneath that slot on the Official Singles Sales list, where it finds space at No. 96.

Eight Lady Gaga Songs are Still Holding On

In total, Gaga sees eight of her songs hold onto at least one U.K. chart this frame. Five of them are taken from Mayhem, including “Abracadabra,” “Die With a Smile,” “Garden of Eden,” “Disease,” and “How Bad Do You Want Me.” Of that group, both “Abracadabra” and “Die With a Smile” — a hugely popular collaboration with Bruno Mars — manage to chart on four separate tallies.

One other cut, “Always Remember Us This Way,” also lifted from A Star Is Born, also remains a smash. Despite being released years ago as part of that film, the fan favorite is still present on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts, where it has now spent more than two full years.

“Mayhem” Is Down, but Still a Hit

Mayhem may not be running the show any longer, after debuting at No. 1 last week, but that’s par for the course for any major new release. The set declines on all six U.K. charts it appears on this frame, but it still manages to remain inside the top five on each one.
