Reports of outages on Instagram began around 9 a.m. EDT and peaked just after 10 a.m. when more than 4,300 users reported issues—most of which were with comments and the app.
On Facebook, outage reports began increasing around 9:30 a.m. and peaked around 830 reports.
As of nearly 11:30 a.m., reports began to rise again after dipping, with almost 2,000 reported on Instagram and 200 on Facebook.
Most issues on Facebook, 45%, were reported with the website, followed by 33% with login and 23% with the app.
Meta hadn’t publicly commented on the issues as of 10:55 a.m., and didn’t immediately answer Forbes’ request for comment.
The Meta status site showed that as of 10:05 a.m. there were “medium disruptions” with Facebook Ads Manager and ad delivery and Workplace from Meta, but no known issues with other platforms.

Meta faced a similar issue just last week when nearly 20,000 users reported issues with Instagram, Reuters reported. The recent problems with Meta products follow a similar issue in early December, though that outage saw more than 100,000 users reporting issues on Facebook. Thousands of users on Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads also reported issues at that time, and it took Meta about five hours to largely resolve the issue and bring the Facebook outage reports to around 1,200. Last March, Meta had a global outage that impacted more than 550,000 Facebook users at its peak and lasted about two hours.
