“Die With a Smile” by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars remains the biggest song in the world. The two superstars continue their joint domination as the track holds steady at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 for yet another week, extending its reign as one of the most-consumed tunes on the planet.

As it racks up its latest frame in charge, the collaborative smash moves further up the all-time ranking of the longest-running No. 1 hits, breaking a tie with one pair of hitmakers and matching another.

“Die With a Smile” Hits 12 Weeks at No. 1

Now in its twelfth week atop the Billboard Global 200, “Die With a Smile” joins an extremely small group of tracks that have lasted at the summit for such a long stretch. This new turn in charge places it among the fourth-longest-running No. 1s in the history of the ranking, tying it with another recent leader — Mars’ own “Apt.”

The superstar singer-songwriter has now managed back-to-back blockbusters that have dominated the chart for months. “Apt.,” his collaboration with Blackpink’s Rosé, also controlled the Billboard Global 200 for a dozen weeks.

That track wrapped its lengthy stay at No. 1 not long ago, while “Die With a Smile” continues its run to this day. Meanwhile, Gaga is still enjoying the longest command of her career.

Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars Mars Push Past Justin Bieber

Before this week, “Die With a Smile” was tied with “Stay” by The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber as the fifth-longest-running leader in the chart’s history. That track, which was a defining hit of the early 2020s, previously spent 11 weeks at No. 1.

How “Die With a Smile” Stacks Up Against the Biggest No. 1s

Even with its impressive showing, “Die With a Smile” still has a way to go before claiming the top spot among the longest-reigning Billboard Global 200 No. 1s. Mariah Carey’s perennial holiday blockbuster “All I Want for Christmas Is You” remains in a distant first place, having accumulated 19 weeks at No. 1 — a sum that could very well increase in the future.

Just behind Carey is Harry Styles’ “As It Was,” which ruled for 15 weeks. Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” stands in third place with 13 weeks in charge. If “Die With a Smile” can remain in control for just one more frame, it will tie that Grammy-winning hit for the next rung on the list.
