On “Forbes Newsroom,” Rep. Ami Bera (D-Calif.) criticized Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-N.Y.) decision to support the continuing resolution to fund the government.
Schumer, who up until last night opposed the CR, changed his mind, while House Democrats have remained united in their opposition to the CR. In the House vote, only one Democrat, Rep. Jared Golden (D-Maine), voted for the funding bill.
“I think Chuck Schumer’s going to take a bad vote,” Bera told Forbes. “This is not a bipartisan budget deal. This is a budget deal that Republicans put together. It’s a budget deal that they never asked us to weigh in on and negotiate.”
President Trump thanked Schumer on Truth Social for his CR support, something Bera pointed out.
“Chuck Schumer’s caving to this,” Bera said. “If they wanted to pass this budget deal on their own, fine. Now it’s become a bipartisan budget deal.”
